Meet the Band
Mrs. Jean Teasdale
Bass, Vocals & Mommie Rockest
When Courtney Love still wore a training bra, Mrs. Jean Teasdale founded Chicago’s legendary all-girl punk band, Barbie Army. Now a proud mom, she’s still writing catchy three-minute distortion-guitar songs influenced by the Ramones, the Raspberries, the Muffs, the Kinks and Billy Bragg.
Barbie Army provided punk rock comic relief during the 80s and early 90s for the patrons of many south and west side blues bars such as The Sexy Kitten Lounge, the Cuddle Inn and Checkerboard Lounge, where Junior Wells asked her, “If there was a fight between me and a bulldog, who would you bet on?” (Whadaya say to that kinda question?)
Other bands she’s played in include the Pop-o-Wheelies and Fang Beach.
Gary Vodka
Guitar, Vocals & Head Bangin’
V has been rockin the local scene for a while now. He’s been the engine for Fang Beach, Bald Cow and Chicago legends, The Farmers…
He must have been raised by wolves cuz’ we’ve known him for years and still don’t know who the hell he reallly is and who he’s working for…
Cheddar Cunningham
Guitar, Vocals & Petmaster
Cheddar was raised by Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart after a hippie couple dumped her to the side of the road in 1976. After conducting a string of semi-successful high school marching bands in South Texas, she travelled to Chicago and formed The Catchelorettes in 2006.
Her influences range anywhere from Kiss to The Ramones. From Richard Hell to The Mr. T Experience. She flips off the world in The Ungrateful Punks!
Her talents are not just limited to music, as she has quite a passion for pets, painting, movies, ballet, japan, pumpkin patches and animate teeth.
ArtPop (aka Art Kubin)
Drums, Vocals & Pop Rox
An aging never-was pop tunesmith who likes to write and record songs in his basement. Was the driving backbeat on The Returnables’ metoric rise to the top back in the day. Also played drums for M.O.T.O. for a few years during the Clinton administration; not so’s you’d notice.
Besides driving the Headspins engine, also singin’ and playin’ in “The Teenage Imposters”.
